I have the chance to purchase a 2008 Felt DA. I’m going to get a fit tomorrow so I know for sure that the bike will work. Definitely meeting up with the seller at a tri shop. Assuming the bike is in good condition are there any issues with starting out on an older frame? Would I be at a serious disadvantage in terms of newer technology? Supposedly the bike was purchased new in early 2010.
the seatpost clamp on that model can have issues, ie tendency to crack and when it does frame is shot as it is bonded to frame. if it did crack, you could just permanently bond the seatpost to frame. also, the bayonet 1 fork, was a headache for many folks. the bayonet 2 was muy bueno, but the 2008 will be bayonet 1

Agreed with the seat clamp problem. The skinny part affixed to the frame is the week link. It happened to me twice, but was covered by warranty. But if you buy a used bike I don’t think you get the warranty. It is a nice bike when the seat is firmly in place.
