Adamo saddle differences

Hi,
I have been using the Adamo “century” saddle for approximatly 12 months. I 'm still feeling some pain at anything past the 2 hour ride mark and I have started looking at maybe changing styles to maybe the “TT” style. I’m wondering if anyone has any experiance with the different styles and if there are big enough differences to make the purchase worth while or should I be looking at different saddle makers?

Thanks ZP

Maybe some more clarification as to the type of “pain” you’re having would help. Is it chafing on the medial thigh? Pressure on the ischial tuberosities? Just the expected discomfort after 2 hours of sitting in the same position?

I don’t know that there will ever be a “discomfort - free saddle” at 2-3 hour rides, but helping us to know what you’re experiencing will help us to sort out if this is something that will actually require a new seat.

The pain is pressure related with some numbness, no chafing involved, I do wear Desoto 400mile shorts but still feel it on the longer rides. I try to get out of the saddle every so often but this dosen’t help much.

Maybe there isn’t a saddle that is discomfort free? I’m just wondering as the line of adamo saddles they have is quite big there maybe some differences that someone has come across that would help?

I had experienced numbness in the past and tilted the nose of my adamo saddles on my road and tri bike down. Worked miracles. I am more comfortable and have had no issues since. I have the adamo time trial on my tt bike and attack on my road bike.

Anyone used the Adamo Road and the COB 55 JOF bud can advise on the differences, is the COB narrower or wider at the front?

The COB 55 JOF is, wait for it, 55mm wide at the front. Adamo’s are 60mm.

mmm guess I asked for that :frowning:

How does it ride in comparison? Which would people recommend?

Also has anyone had experience with Fiziks new Tritone? I’m on the hunt for a new saddle as well.

Nuthin meant by it.

Never ridden on a cob, so no idea how they compare. As far as I can tell though, I don’t think I want to go narrower than the adamo.

Went from Cobb to adamo.

I went from the Cobb Tri Max to the Fizik Tritone at the beginning of this year and absolutely hated the Tritone. I then went to the Adamo TT and have felt pretty good on it for the last ~2 months. The width on the Tritone was the biggest issue for me I think. Ended up zip-tying the rails together on the Adamo which has felt comfortable.

I have an Adamo Racing on one tri bike and the Adamo Road on my second tri bike. I cannot tell any difference between the two when riding. I ride them both on 100 mile rides with no numbness or other issues. I think the Road is the same as the Racing, only with a little added cushion. I did try a Podium a year or so ago and didn’t find it as comfortable as the Racing/Road models so I passed it along.

I spent last year on an Adamo road. Just got a COB JOF a few days ago. Initial impression is that there is less padding on the nose of the saddle but I don’t have enough time on it to make a judgement call. Like another poster above me, I tried the Fizik Tritone and hated it… hated it within a minute, literally, of riding on it. It’s simply too wide for me up front.

I’ll have a post up in about a week comparing the adamo road, adamo tt, cob jof, and specialized sitero.
