I have spent much of a long, cold winter riding away on the trainer in the basement. Last week, I detected that odd stink often associated with dirty socks. My sock and jersey were clean, my shoes were quickly ruled out. Finally, I traced it to the pads on my aerobar. Any thought about cleaning them besides just spraying them with Fabreeze?
20 bucks just buy a new pair. I’d rather mine smell like normal than febreeze. Smell makes me sick especially the lavender.
Do they come off? I would wash with my normal anti-athletic-clothes-stink detergent…
Gloves?
Cornchip doesn’t sound too bad. Maybe ladle some bacon fat on 'em to soak all up in there.
Get some salsa?
stop eating Fritos on your trainer rides
.
But…but…but… It’s part of my IM nutrition plan!
Have you tried lifting a corner of the pad? Mine velcro on, so can be removed and washed.
Corn chips, eh?
I throw mine in the wash with my clothes every week, they haven’t been damaged yet
.
frito smell= yeast. get rid of them.
A bacteria called Pseudomonas is associated with a corn chip smell. I would throw them out and get new ones.
Wash then in warm water with detergent and bleach…kill everything (works great with running shoes too).
