Best headphones for run / bike? I have some Sonys. They are okay but don’t fit my ears well and don’t sound too good. I’m really upping the volume and want music!
Jaybird’s Bluebud X

Paired with complyfoam tips (I use the S-500)

Bluetooth, sweat proof, can make calls, long battery, loud
When used with the complyfoam tips they stay put… I can literally run hours without needing to adjust

I use standard apple headphones when running if I do have my mp3 on. Seem fine to me and they came with the iPod. As for riding, I don’t understand why people would listen to music while riding. It’s dangerous enough on the roads when you can hear all that’s going on around you. Taking away a precious sense by listening to music can only lead to bad things. Leave it home and enjoy the sounds around you while you ride.
anyone have any experience with the bose sport earphones?

+1, especially for biking.
I have the bose ie2’s and love them. Great sound. Softer fit than yurbuds - they don’t go so far into your ear canal.

+1 esp the new wireless ones

I hated the Bose earbuds. They don’t stay in well and because they do not go in your ear canals, they don’t block out external noise. They are completely useless for cycling due to wind noise. This is probably a good thing as you should not wear them on the bike anyway ; ). They are great for sitting around listening to music, but I hated them on the run and on the bike they were useless.
I’ll never understand why some people think it’s safe to ride a bike with headphones. It’s a really bad idea. Groups outlaw it for good reasons.
Try the Klipsch S4i rugged. The sound is incredible, the ear tips are the best and most comfortable, and they don’t have much, if any, wind noise (a huge problem with the Bose). The wire goes up and over the back of the ear, so they stay in place well, but the wire doesn’t interfere with glasses (like some of the over the ear designs).
They are $53 on amazon right now for blue, and slightly higher for other colors.

I agree totally with the cycling comment but feel the same when running on the street.
Monster iSport are hands down, the best of the best… if you can get a good deal. Sound is loud and incredible, they stay put no matter what, and are waterproof. If I ever destroy this pair, I’d buy them again.
I have tried many headphones and found the stock late model iPhone head phones don’t fall out.
As for riding the bike I use only one headphone in my right ear and moderate volume keeping one ear open for horns and eyes open for fingers…

These let in an incredible amount of wind noise when I ride. I’m glad I tried my wifes before buying some for myself. (n=1)
I’m in the market for a decent bluetooth headset to use while riding. I often get stuck in meetings that I could easily do on the road, but I need something that’s loud enough that the wind/traffic isn’t an issue, and one where the noise from the microphone doesn’t drive people nuts…

+5 When I see folks wearing this stuff on the bike I just shake my head.
Run, I use all the time for training.

Cheap, great sound, and durable (I’ve used the same pair for almost 2 years).
