I’m trying to get my brother into multi-sport but as with many new to the sport, they don’t want to spend much until they know they love it. I only have one trisuit so he can’t just use mine (since we are signed up for the same race).
He doesn’t want to spend more than $50 for a tri suit or $40 for tri shorts (since I have a tri top he could use)
Are those prices possible to find? Can you post links to current deals you are aware of?
Check Desoto’s clearance section. I purchased their “mystery” kit for $60 and got a nice trisuit. It is Italia pink, but I am man enough to race in it.
Just get some jammers for $20.
voler.com is having a sale on tri gear right now. Plenty of options in that range. Their stuff is decent. I have a few pieces that I wore up until I got a great clearance sale on some really high end Louis Garneau stuff.
+1 on the Desoto mystery kit… top notch stuff at an awesome price. $60 for a forza kit that retails for $190 is a smokin deal.
REI 20% sale (works on outlet stuff too for the current one). I purchased my one-piece tri-suits (in my size) that were on clearance at the REI-Outlet that I could use the coupon on. Each suit I paid around $50-60 after the savings (bought 2 total so far and probably at the end of this season will buy another one).
Otherwise, you can always find used tri tops in the classifieds too.
