I loved my $29.95 Brooks Villanovas but I don’t think my knees can take them now.
I feel like i was teased here. I was all excited about the Brooks Chariot or the Brooks Argent coming back!!! Not to be I guess.

The first running shoes I bought back in 1979 were Brooks. They fell apart on the first run. Took them back and got New Balance 420’s and I stayed with them until two years ago when I made my latest comeback with two fake hips on Hoka One One’s.
I’d hate to have to run in those new $29 Brooks shoes.
Awesome post! Brooks with another massive fail. The sad thing is that they will probably sell a lot of these to non-athletes like hipsters and fatties. I run in Pure Flow 2’s and hate the colors of the Pure Flow 3’s. They also keep tweaking things like reversing the direction of the burrito tongue for no logical reason. If they keep it up I am going to have to go another direction such as Altra or Saucony. I also like the Ghost’s for a casual every day shoe. They haven’t messed it up yet, but I’m sure it’s coming.

The blue with orange logo (or something that looked very similar) was my first running shoe when I was in high school. They were hand-me-downs from my dad.

Loved me some Chariots back in the mid 80’s. Converted to them from Nike Pegasus, which was a bid deal in HS.

I often wonder, seriously how far running shoes have evolved from the Nike Pegasus and the Brooks Vantage - two shoes that I ran a lot in back in the late 70’s and early 80’s When I say a lot, it was 50 - 80 miles/week. Never had any issues.
I know the shoe companies like to go on and on , but really how much of the shoes have changed since the Pegasus and the Vantage. Not a lot from what I can tell - with a couple of exceptions:

Saucony has the Jazz classic. Nike offers the Internationalist, and the Pegasus 83. Asics has a whole mess of retro under the Tiger brand.
For pure hipster value, my current fave is the Adidas LA Trainer…1984 tech at it’s finest.

Literally just got my Island Hoppers Tri Team tshirt the other day. It’s hands down my favorite T even in the short run it’s enjoyed so far.
