A local running store is offering a sponsorship package to people that pre-qualified through a screening process.
Unfortunately, this is done via “facebook votes” (which equates to a popularity contest) - but it is what it is. THere are a bunch of perks that you get that I mostly won’t be using (and I’ll do giveaways on my blog if I do win), but the big thing is that they help with race expenses. This means a lot for me - as I’m on the brink of cancelling my IM Lake Tahoe trip due to some unforseen financial issues with my wife’s side of the family (medical bills for one of her siblings we’re helping with).
So, I’m asking everyone here to support a fellow slowtwitcher and keep me racing IMLT this year.
Process is simple. Click on the link and just vote for “Bryan Lamb” if you have a facebook account. I’ll be forever grateful for your support.
I would rather just offer to pick you up from airport and get you a pizza for lunch at IMLT. Consider it one of the more valuable sponsorships out there.
Voted, you seem to have a big lead so far, good luck. I will let you know if i get spammed to high heaven for this…(-; You may owe me one of those old retro boards.
Been assured you won’t be spammed and the permissions when voting is simply so that they can see what FB account has voted and not voted (they see your profile picture and link to your account). I’m guessing this is done to prevent people from using a ton of fake accounts.
I’ll bump the thread to thank everyone after voting ends. If people intend to unlike the page, that’s on them. I’m sure you’ll have tons of stuff on your news feed reminding you regardless.
The last region to vote ended with someone hacking into the results - so they suspended the poll and crowned both people ambassadors after a boatload of drama. This is a new format that apparently prevents that - but we’ll see.
