Inquiring into the common wisdom on CO2 cartridges for 650 tires. I have a road bike with 700 tires (I’ve used both 23 and 25 widths on it) and stick to a 16 gram cartridge. My tri bike has 650 tires though. I’ve read that the 16 gram cartridge can get the 650x23 tire to 170 psi; which is well beyond the max pressure. A 12 gram cartridge is supposed to get that same 650x23 tire to 110 psi. So would it be better to just use the 12 gram cartridge or cautiously use the 16; backing it off before it expends all the CO2?
I have 650 tires and use 12 gram and it’s good to go.
I use both 12 and 16 gram cartridges. Both work fine

I always use 16g on my 650x20 tires, never had any issues
I’m probably not patient enough to wait for them to overfill
