Cyclists! Quick to the nerdery!

Have not had much of a chance to look into this…but cycling - like it, video games - like it, on a trainer a bunch - yeah…would like to spice that up.

Anyhow check it out: http://www.zwift.com/index

You’ve missed a few threads on this in the tri forum

The developer was also in the tri forum a few months ago showing off his product and soliciting people for the beta.

ah…and I had gotten so good in searching the forum prior to posting…

Thanks for the link. My favorite part of the thread is the 80% of it where two folks fight over cpu specs and building a cpu vs buying instead of talking about the program.

Note to self: if I ever get into an argument online with someone I don’t know about their desktop computer needs in a forum in no way associated with cpu’s well…shit I probably have to change a ton of stuff.

I received a Zwift invite for the Mac platform last week, but cannot get it to work. For some reason Zwift won’t recognize my Ant+ devices, despite using the same dongle that works just fine for all of my Ant+ devices when using TrainerRoad. Zwift looks pretty cool, if I could get it to work. Another distraction for the ~5 months of trainer weather we have in Michigan would be nice.

Chicago here…we’ve got pretty much the same weather.

I hear ya. I’m running out of stuff I like to watch on Hulu and Netflix. I’m going for the mac beta as well…hopefully I can get it working w/ant+ and get my (somewhat) video game fix while riding. We’ll see.

Does it recognize that you have a dongle plugged in, or does it tell you there’s no Ant+ dongle?

Can’t help you with the former, but if the latter, do you have something like Suunto’s Movescount running in the background? I had a lot of trouble getting Zwift to recognize that my Suunto Movestick Mini was plugged in until I read that Movescount interferes with Zwift’s ability to recognize it. Disabled Movescount and no problem. Not sure if Garmin or other Ant+ dongles have a similar software.

Thanks. It does recognize that the dongle is plugged in. However, it does make me wonder if the presence of Garmin Express, even if it’s not running, might be causing problems. I’ll delete it and try that.
