Post your own please. Looking for some new ideas. Just looking for some mid-day quick snacks to hold me over. Here is one I tried last night from the race weight cookbook:
1 small sweet potato cooked (I nuked it in the wave, then peeled it)
1 cup coconut milk
1 scoop vanilla protein powder
1/4 tsp pumpkin pie spice
how long do you nuke the sweet potato to get it soft enough?
I’m pretty boring with smoothies. usually, berries, banana and some apple cider and water. I’ll also toss in some spinach to get some extra “raw” greens. Surprising that you really don’t taste it at all. i also use canned lychees - rinse them to get rid of the sugary syrup.
my wife makes cherry, vanilla smoothies. Frozen cheeries, banana and some vanilla protein powder. I’m not a big vanilla guy, but sounds like you are.
My Normal Green Smoothie:
8 oz almond milk;
a few (yes, a few) handfuls of frozen greens (spinach, kale, chard, up to you);
a banana;
scoop of chocolate plant-based protein;
2 T chia seed; and
2 T flax seed.
Orange Cream
8 oz almond milk;
a few handfuls of greens;
handful of frozen strawberries;
a banana;
scoop of orange cream plant-based protein;
chia & flax.
Honestly, you can mess it up with this formula:
Liquid Base: (water, almond milk)
Greens: (kale, spinach, etc. Buy a big bag of fresh greens and stick it in the freezer… grab what you need for each smoothie)
Fruit: berries, etc. whatever you really want it to taste like
Mushy fruit: banana, pear, avocado (not a fruit) – you need something to give it a “smoothie” texture… a mushy fruit is vital.
You can add fresh ginger, chia seed, flax seed, greens powder, protein powder…
My recent go-to:
-1 cup of whole walnuts (guessing this is like 1/2 cup of ground walnuts)
-2 cups of almond milk
-two frozen strawberries
-chocolate whey protein (NOW fwiw)
