Favorite Smoothie Recipes

Post your own please. Looking for some new ideas. Just looking for some mid-day quick snacks to hold me over. Here is one I tried last night from the race weight cookbook:

1 small sweet potato cooked (I nuked it in the wave, then peeled it)
1 cup coconut milk
1 scoop vanilla protein powder
1/4 tsp pumpkin pie spice

Blend until smooth. This is really, really good.

how long do you nuke the sweet potato to get it soft enough?

I’m pretty boring with smoothies. usually, berries, banana and some apple cider and water. I’ll also toss in some spinach to get some extra “raw” greens. Surprising that you really don’t taste it at all. i also use canned lychees - rinse them to get rid of the sugary syrup.

my wife makes cherry, vanilla smoothies. Frozen cheeries, banana and some vanilla protein powder. I’m not a big vanilla guy, but sounds like you are.

1/3 frozen berries
1/3 pineapple spears
1/3 mango spears

add water or coconut water to get the consistency you desire
.

  • Big handful of spinach
  • Half an apple stem,seeds, and everything
  • 1/2 cup of almond or hemp milk
  • Some chia seeds
  • 1/2 cup of mixed frozen berries
  • 1/2 cup of pineapple
  • tiny piece of ginger peeled
  • 1/2 cup of water

Only try this if you’ve got a vitamix or something like it. Usually makes a bit more than one pint.

  1. 1-2 cups coconut milk
  2. banana
  3. peanut butter
  4. 1 scoop protein powder (whatever you use, i use sun warrior blah blah)
  5. 1 scoop chocolate milk powder (yes haha chocolate milk, but whatever it tastes good)
  6. 1 scoop barleens greens
  7. ice cubes for crushing to your required texture…

boom.

My Normal Green Smoothie:
8 oz almond milk;
a few (yes, a few) handfuls of frozen greens (spinach, kale, chard, up to you);
a banana;
scoop of chocolate plant-based protein;
2 T chia seed; and
2 T flax seed.

Orange Cream
8 oz almond milk;
a few handfuls of greens;
handful of frozen strawberries;
a banana;
scoop of orange cream plant-based protein;
chia & flax.

Honestly, you can mess it up with this formula:

Liquid Base: (water, almond milk)
Greens: (kale, spinach, etc. Buy a big bag of fresh greens and stick it in the freezer… grab what you need for each smoothie)
Fruit: berries, etc. whatever you really want it to taste like
Mushy fruit: banana, pear, avocado (not a fruit) – you need something to give it a “smoothie” texture… a mushy fruit is vital.

You can add fresh ginger, chia seed, flax seed, greens powder, protein powder…

My recent go-to:
-1 cup of whole walnuts (guessing this is like 1/2 cup of ground walnuts)
-2 cups of almond milk
-two frozen strawberries
-chocolate whey protein (NOW fwiw)
