Not that I really care the guy was shot, I mean he is butt ugly, and I think Chechnyans have no place here. But why wasn’t the FBI agent’s name released. If this was a local police shooting, his name would be all over the place.
Our taxes pay his salary, and funded this investigation. I want names.
Just to support why I don’t think Chechnyans belong here, take a good look. Warning this video cannot be unseen and might be very violent and shocking for most.
Maybe I’m biased. While I’ll admit a lot of the news we got about the Chechnyan war was propaganda, it still was a Podunk Soviet province now run by a Putin owned strongman whose bizarre behavior rivals Putins bear wrestling. We let there refugees (who were doing the beheading) come here and look what happened, the Boston Marathon Bombed. Why on earth would we allow them here.
I don’t understand. You hate Chechnyans, don’t think they should be allowed in the US, applaud one of them being shot, but are condemning the agency responsible for the shooting, and demanding the identify of the shooter.
Could I get a flow chart of your outrage so I can follow along?
Just having one of those days. My real outrage is that the FBI agent’s name isn’t being released. I think we should know this information.
It is one of those tough situation. On the one hand we have heavy handed gov’t not being transparent in the possible execution of a terror suspect (doubtful, but possible) and you have what sounds like the scum of the earth that probably shouldn’t have been here killed. Since this administration has proven more inept at handling detained terrorist than Bush, maybe the guy getting shot isn’t a bad thing after all. I struggle internally with this. So it it just gave me an excuse to talk about my personal dislike of Chechnyans. My wife is Ukrainian, so maybe a little bigotry towards them rubbed off on me. She has a very low opinion of Russians and most other former Soviet states. Between her hatred, the savagery of their civil war (beheadings and holding a theater of kids hostage), and the bombing (had friends there), I can’t say I see a lot there to really care about. Plus it was an excuse to slip a beheading video on.
With that said, I do not understand why we offer refugee status to people like this. They really do not have a lot to offer, and you play with a snake, you will get bit eventually. That is what happened here.
My real outrage is that the FBI agent’s name isn’t being released. I think we should know this information.
Get over yourself. The American public does NOT have a fundamental right to know absolutely everything. A federal agent who shoots an international terrorist is at risk of retaliation. Much like our military special operators, it makes virtually no sense to release his name, thereby making him a target, and probably reducing his ability to continue doing his job.
I can’t even click on that video link. Maybe around 2000 a friend sent me a link of a video that literally took me to within 2 seconds of throwing up. I remember it was titled ‘Death of a Soldier’.
So when a police officer shoots a gang member, are they any less susceptible to retaliation. I would think more.
But I’m not going to have this conversation with you, because while you are perhaps one of the most intelligent people here, you have a mindset that generally sides with the state on all things. So we know where you stand.
Yes, it is a bunch of savage chechens cutting off the heads of Russian soldiers pleading for their lives. In some cases they cut half way through and you can see the people are still alive pleading for mercy. I’m no fan of Russians, but that is barbaric. You want to cut somebody’s head off fine, but put a bullet to their head first. This isn’t Hellraiser.

When police officers shoot gang members, their names are generally not broadcast all over the place either.

This has nothing to do with “siding with the State.” It’s about the safety of the individual agent. And your paranoia regarding anything wearing a uniform or working for the govt notwithstanding, I don’t always side with the State. I simply urge a small measure of common sense from you, rather than reactionary anger anytime any law enforcement agent breathes heavily.
I watched part of that video and the only thing I could think is that the video itself had to have been pretty mild compared to what they must have gone thru to get to that point. You don’t just lay there and let someone saw your head off unless the alternative is worse.
I simply can’t fathom what people must go thru in order to get to that level of barbarism.
Go through. Obviously they haven’t gone through much. They behave like they haven’t evolved. This is the kind of stuff cavemen, ancient tribes, and modern cannibal like tribes in the far reaches of the earth do.
I mean, we aren’t talking about some serial killer, or psychologically deranged person, were talking about a group of people that were probably viewed as freedom fighters savagely beheading people. And their kinsmen bombed our countrymen.
I once read a book about psychopathology, and why or how it exists. The author stated that psychopathic behavior may well have been a survival mechanism in more savage times, but what makes it pathological today is that we do not need such numbness. Such callous behavior towards fellow man, even if they are an enemy. In other words, psychopathology is savage behavior not excepted today because we have evolved beyond the need for it. Well, obviously they haven’t.
