Felt Questions

I'm looking at the Felt DA2 (2014). I have a couple of questions:
  1. In checking out the bike at a shop DA4, the rear brake felt really mushy. Was that a setup issue? When properly set up, are there any issues?

  2. The wheels shown on the website seem to be different from what are spec’d. Is this just another “bait and switch”?

In looking at a P3 or the DA2, any comments?

Just took a gander at the '14 DA2. The integrated the front brake! Looks nice. I’d imagine regarding wheels, what you see is what you get. I have a couple of friends with Felts and they love them.

Cervelo might have an aero edge but I’d imagine it’s pretty darn close. So long as spec levels are similar for the same price, go with one that has your preferred color

  1. There’s a guide for optimal rear brake setup: http://forum.slowtwitch.com/gforum.cgi?post=4884412;sb=post_latest_reply;so=ASC;forum_view=forum_view_collapsed;;page=unread#unread
    YMMV

  2. What website are you looking at? You’ll have to clarify with your bike shop (may have to show them the page etc).

Which P3? The new mold P3 or classic P3?

Those TTR1 wheels are the ones that you see on the picture on the felt website. Reynolds makes them I believe, felt slaps a sticker on them.

I ride Felt and have no complaints. Rear brake is fine. I put a TriRig on front. Fast bikes, you will love it.

I have a 2014 Felt DA4. I immediately tried to improve the braking but could only get it adequate. Instead of accepting it and hoping it will work, I used a Problem Solvers Travel Agent inline by the stem. It won’t fit at the brake. This doubled my cable pull and allowed me to use the tightest spring setting. I have great actuation too. I highly suggest this to those that have a Felt DA. The bike is great and looks fantastic with my PT Zipp Disc on the back. Here is a pic of the part I used.

I posted some pics on this forum. In retrospect, I should have ordered the one without the barrel adjuster but it was the only one in stock at my LBS. Again, this works great. I’m sure I wasn’t the first to think of it.
