Reoccurring niggle behind met-1 which appears to be a touch of FHL tendonitis at that insertion point - any increase in training load aggravates the condition, stretching calf helps, bike seems to cause onset - first run after long bike results in a reaction.
Had it checked out last September, specialist confirmed no fracture or sesamoid condition. Neutral foot runner, slightly more flat-footed on that foot, also have a slight ‘duck-footed’ run gait.
Run in relatively low drop shoes (Cortana’s) - stiff bike shoes, rearward cleat position, ‘even’ spin-cycle, nothing too ‘funky’ going on there. Reaction kicking off pool wall.
Hoping someone has relieved similar and can share some advice - wondering if I should be changing to a stiffer soled run shoe with less toe-off? 4mm drop helping or a hindrance, i.e. would a higher drop shoe help or maybe the opposite? Raising saddle a tad to decrease FHL stretch? Change bike shoes?
Yeah, I’m fishing about here…
Thanks all,
Dave
