Got my Flo Disc in today :)

I didn’t expect it to get here this quickly … but I’m way excited and can’t wait to race it next weekend. It’s already on the bike and took a nice tour of the neighborhood. Now the TT bike is all Flo’ed out

Good looking rig.

Looking sharp!

I am guessing you are doing the Beaver Freezer?

No … “As the Raven Flies” in Oregon (McMinville) … assuming they get their paperwork in soon.

can we call you “Flo-rida” ?
.

Did you receive a shipping confirmation email / tracking #? I have disc/90 order and I’m hoping to get the wheels before my race next Sunday on April 6th.

Just out of curiosity, how do you like the Argon? Ride quality, responsiveness, wt, etc? My old tri coach told me I should consider one…

Great looking bike. So what is the aero reason for the big circular ridge on side of the disc?

That is the nicest Argon 18 i’ve ever seen. Nice rig, How do you like the disc/90 setup?

Not positive but I believe the disc is based off the FLO 90. That ridge appears to be where the 90 fairing ends and continues covering the spokes to the hub.

Yeah I’ve got one too and it is an odd shape. Basically a permanently covered 90 on the DS and a big convex bulge on the NDS.

Totally understand the NDS bulge, that is unavoidable. (Might even be faster on certain bikes.) But I wonder why the pronounced ridge between the virtual rim and the virtual cover? Why not a smooth transition like this?:

Can’t answer that. My guess is manufacturing costs rather than speed benefits.

I didn’t actually … And I didn’t expect to see it until next week. The timing was awesome though since my wife was on spring break so it didn’t sit on my porch

I haven’t got to try the disc yet (had a RENN on before) … but I do like the 90 up front, though I can feel some cross winds, especially when stronger. The wheel is well built, stayed true over about 750 miles of use (I also train on it and a front 60 I have) and is plenty stiff enough for TT’s and I weigh low 190’s at race weight and low 200’s at the start of the season.

I’m looking forward to racing the combo next weekend on a fairly hilly 11-12 mile TT.

It’s a good bike … though I should have gone one size larger. I have the “M/L” and should have got the “L” as you can see from the taller seat height and extra spacers under the pads.

The ride is good though maybe a little on the stiff side. The bottom bracket area is very stiff with no rubbing of the rear wheel even with a somewhat flexy RENN on the back. The bars are super adjustable and I like the extra drop in the base bar … They should offer it separately for other bikes.I’m not completely sold on the integrated front end … and might prefer the E-116 due to more adjustment with stock stems, and it’s cheaper.Steering is quick, much quicker than on my old Fuji that it replaced. It’s a little heavy, but not too bad.Overall, it’s easy to work on and cabling isn’t too difficult.
Basically, if it fits you well … it’s worth a good look. If it doesn’t fit well, it’s not going to be that great.
