I think I have seen this before, but just watched it again and it all seemed new. If you want to be inspired, awed, whatever. It’s simply amazing to hear the testimonials of the survivors. Any one of the many hurdles they beat is a life story for anyone. Awesome amazing story of the human spirit. I read the original book in the mid 80’s and saw the major picture as well, but this History Channel piece was in a class by itself. The book simply cannot relate the visual aspects the documentary shows. If you enjoyed the book I do not think you will be disappointed at this story.
This is the kind of stuff that encourages me when I think my pathetic little life gets tough, tough swim workout or whatever. Love stories of perseverance.
