I know this was covered in the Official P5 thread, but I can’t find it. I need some pro tips on getting grease, dirt and other junk off the P5 matte frame.
Any clever ideas?
Cheers!

Pledge.
Pedro’s Green Fizz works great on mine.
im hoping cervelo brings back gloss finishes for this very reason! plus gloss looks much better imo! Im a fan of the muc-off products fwiw
I was told not to clean my R5CA with anything but Grey Goose alcohol… it works well.
Finish Line Bike Wash (In the pink bottle), carbon friendly.
I called Cervelo to ask this question, but about my matte NP3. He said that they use Simple Green. I asked if what I was using was safe (Park Took Citrus Based Degreasser) and he said yes, that would be safe. He said to just not use anything with harsh chemicals on it as it could affect the paint.
I have a Scott Plasma Premium so same issue, I just use any standard bike wash us a watered down citrus degreaser for any tougher bits.
On another note, baby wipes are amazing for a quick bike clean. Get rid if grease and muck well, no need to hose, I assume no harsh chemicals as they are used on little shits (literally and metaphorically) and are great for cleaning up drive chain areas too. No water, no mess, clean indoors after a ride and simply throw away.
Just a word of warning … If you don’t have kids and bump into friends at the supermarket whilst carrying a box of baby wipes then rumours start and questions need answering.
baby wipes! Seriously. Get a nice box, easy dispensing, work/smell great.
When it comes to matte finishes, you want to avoid wax-based cleaners/polishes. They will leave a residue and may look greasy. We recommend soap and water or Simple Green. With matte, you do not want to use any sort of polishing compound either. Otherwise, you may start to create shiny spots on your bike’s finish.
windex and a cotton rag.
I use a mixture of simple green and water with either a soft sponge or microfiber rag. Used that combo on my matte black soloist for 5+ years without any ill effects at all.
