I parked my car in the gay village on Sunday <-- that is not a euphemism

A couple of observations:

Every guy in the gay village is super stereotypically gay. Why is that? (I have a feeling that this is not just a Toronto thing)

There didn’t appear to be any lesbians. Is there a lesbian village that I am unaware of?

I think they’d say that every hetero guy is super stereotypically hetero.

I think that they’d be wrong.

When I think super stereotypically hetero I picture a douche in a muscle car that talks about his bench press and thinks that he can “catch the gay” if he goes near gay people.

Most guys are not this.

Stereotypes exist for a reason.

Lesbians are like unicorns. They’re fun to fantasize about but don’t actually exist.

It’s a neighbourhood thing. From talking to my gay friends (who are mostly lesbians, oddly, but a couple of guys as well) the gay and FAAABULOUS crowd tend to be drawn to that area, whereas the gay and not-so-fabulous crowd think it’s ridiculous and avoid it.

The stereotypical lesbians around here buy houses and do home-improvement projects, and play in a softball league in the summer.

Wait. There is a section of town called Gay Village?

It’s on Queen St.

(actually it’s not, but it should be)

It takes a few days to germinate, you're not out of the woods yet!

Isn’t this like going to an IM standing in the corral and proclaiming “Every Guy in the Coral is super stereotypical triathlete”? IOW it’s like that because you went to a place where the stereo typical gay people hang out. Go to a gay pride parade and on the floats you will find “Super stereo typical gay people”. Go to a church and you will find “Super stereotypical church people”. Gay guys that are not stereotypical gay guys are probably not living in the gay village anymore then hetereo guys that are not super stereotypical metro sexuals are not hanging out at the nail salon.

Is there a lesbian village that I am unaware of?

Yes it’s called a Mellisa Etheridge concert  More seriously I think for the most part lesbians are less held in disdain by society and by default tend to be more confortable as lesbians. This allows them to be both less stereotypical as them being a lesbian is less of a main point of their lives and less likely to make their sexuality as a main point of the company they seek to be with. Women seem far more comfortable with lesbians then men typically are with homosexuals. So lesbian women tend to hang out with women regardless of sexual orientation while homosexual men tend to hang out with homosexuals.

Try coaching women’s basketball or rowing. Or softball. They exist.

There are some women who are too ugly and bitter to attract a man so they hook up with other ugly chicks and call themselves “lesbian”. Then there are hot chicks who wear sexy outfits and get it on with other hot chicks. Those are called “college students” or “porn stars”.

I know several. I think he meant “hot, and just waiting for the right man to come along to turn them straight, but still want to have a girl-girl-guy threesome with Duffy” lesbians. They don’t exist.

Those do exist. They aren’t lesbians. That’s the point.

I have Polaroids and witnesses.

It’s Halloween everyday on Church St. I’ve never seen anywhere as flaming as Church st and I used to work in SF.

I have been to San Francisco. It’s nowhere near as gay as Toronto.

Some of the lesbians I coached were “hot.” And I mean that in a purely professional, fatherly, coach-to-athlete way. Not a Brett Sutton creepy way. I think some men, like Duffy, just prefer a different reality.

I’d love to post some of the pictures of wimmins I’ve coached (some have gone on to fame), but I’m not going to violate their privacy - though I think they’re all openly gay, I’m not entirely sure.
