IM 70.3 Florida water temp was 72 degrees this morning!

We had a logistics meeting this morning in Haines City and I took the water temp at 9:30 am. It was 72 degrees. Cnetral Florida had a full day of rain on Saturday and the temps each night have been in the 60’s for the past few weeks. Not sure if the water will stay below 76.1 until race day, but we will see. I’ll be down in Haines City starting next Tuesday and will take the water temp each day.

If you are still thinking about entering the event, you will need to sign up on-line by next Monday, April 7th. On-line registration will close on Monday. Z

Temps in the high 80’s rest of this week and parts of next week in the sebring area 35 miles south of hanis city

It looks like the weather is heating up next week but will drop a little later in the week. I guess it all depends how cold it will be at night. I say it will be pretty close to wetsuit legal.

If they measured it in the middle of the lake and at the deepest point I say 50/50. This course as tight as it is wetsuits would be good just for safety.

Wetsuit will be packed and with me sunday AM but I don’t really care either way. For personal times I would like to see it be wetsuit legal, for thinning out the people in front of me (starting in one of the last waves) I’d like to see it be optional assuming that a wetsuit wave would go off last. Probably in the small percentage who would prefer the latter.

Regardless of the temps I definitely appreciate how much you come on here and update everyone about the race.

Lucky lake which is about 30 miles away and has similar surface area is 73. Lake Eva might be a tiny bit warmer, since it is shallower.
