Need Advice on Power Meter (crank/crankset based)

Perhaps this easy question have been asked before. Sorry for asking it again. What would be my options if I want to buy a crank/crankset based PM given I have a 50/34 110bcd Rotor 3df (BSA adapter) crankset while I’m planning to reuse it if possible (save some bucks)? Left/right distribution not of interest to me. Want something that can stay in my bike during training and racing (so hub-based systems are out of question). Educate me please. Thanks

If you’re looking to use your existing 3DF crank
then I think
Power2Max is your bet…

Looks great! They’re around $879 just pure PM. Funny they sell you the installation tool separately but wonder if a ‘cheap’ version exists out there of this ‘special’ tool. Thanks man!

Hi aca-tri,

if your shop or some friends have the tool already you don’t need to order it. Unfortunately it’s not a standard tool that’s easily found, though.

Oh I see. I’ll check with my friends. BTW, I do have the Aero Q rings so if I want to avoid trimming the big one so the p2m ‘brain’ has enough space, then I guess my best option is the new Type S. Would that be correct? Help me here also, there’s a Cervelo PM Upgrade link that outlines what Cervelo cuatomers should do offering Free shipping. But once you’re checking out you’re still being charged with Shipping. Would you mind sharing a discount code for that shipping? Wouldn’t hurt asking you know? Below is my email address if gaining a customer by trading that cost is attractive to P2max…

Hi Acatri,

the aero ring issue applies only to the Classic in compact. 130BCD is not affected.

True about the Cervelo page. We changed to shipping method recently to make it more secure, which is more expensive. We still subsidize shipping, though.
