Awesome news… now I can upgrade my road bike to 105 10 seed for dirt cheap with leftover inventory so my Tri and Road bike can share wheels. Actually I already have my Ultegra crank off my Tri bike (went to a 165mm) so I just need 10 speed shifters as I’m told my 9 speed Duraace derailleur will still work. Hey, it might be 18 years with at least 20k miles on it, but if it shifts, it shifts. The shifters are finally showing their age.
There is a pretty bad history, particularly with shimano, of underperforming center pull aero brakes. It’s not that they couldn’t make a good one now, it’s probably more likely that they don’t want to expose skeletons in their closet. Plus it’s a small market.
Not that I’ll be running out to upgrade, but this shimano 105 group looks seriously nice.
11 speed is completely uncompelling to me. Yes, let me ditch every wheel I own for an additional cog I really, really don’t need. I personally don’t even need 10 cogs, 11 is just silly.
I realize this is not a problem for someone new to the sport or someone buying an new complete bike. I think I’ll stick with the old but unscared and perfectly-working 6600 on my road bike for the foreseeable future.

I’m in the same boat. There’s no way I’ll be upgrading soon to 11-speed. That would mean 3 bikes and loads of wheels to upgrade. Holy moly. I don’t even want to think about it. . . .
I’m excited about their hydro lever with mechanical shifting. I’ve got a cross bike with mech discs that may be getting a set of these. No way in hell would I put electronic on that bike, but I would like hydros over mech brakes.

I’m not disagreeing with your own view, but I personally am always looking for that phantom gear between the two I have. Can’t wait to have a bike with 11 in the rear.
