Looking to buy (new) a single speed hybrid bike, simple clean, nothing fancy (so it won’t get stolen). Gonna mount a U-lock holder on the bike. (I don’t need a basket, bell, whistle, nothing girly so don’t even post it lol)
Any suggestions?
thx

My suggestion is to ditch the “(new)” part and just get an old (like 80’s) road frame with horizontal dropouts and a thread-on hub wheel, and replace the freewheel with a single speed unit.
This is what I got was a single-speed commuter bike (flip-flop hub): http://www.bikesdirect.com/products/gravity/swift2_track.htm
$309 shipped
The parts are great quality for this pricepoint, but the build quality needs work (so check all the bolts when you set it up).
Actually gets compliments for the clean look.
