Swimming in Boston

I am heading to Boston in a couple weeks to run the marathon. Was wondering where I could get some swim workouts in leading up to the race? Staying near Fenway Park. Maybe some place walking distance or even short cab or train ride. Not worried about cost.

Thanks for your help!

You can swim at MIT across the bridge from Fenway just run/cab over the Mass Ave Bridge, you can swim at MIT without being a student, clean, towels and a gym attached to lift/run/bike. It’s a college but don’t expect any eye candy.

good luck at the boston marathon, gonna be a good year for it.

x2 on MIT pool, excellent facility and easy to get to from where you are staying where it’s just a quick ride across the river.

Cambridge Masters is a good workout, great pool, if you go that route just check to see what type of workout they are having that day.

Thanks everyone for the advice. Sounds like MIT is the way to go.

If you want to swim with a group with hard efforts and a great swim coach dishing out the pain check out endurance swimming. Wed evenings at 6:30 p and Sat ams at 730. Up on Rt 1 about 20 minutes north of Boston. Easy to get to. Google it and his web site will pop up. Novice up to pro with pro’s there on a regular basis.
