Two Options

Hello All,

Long time lurker, first time poster. I have a friend who is going to build me some wheels and need help choosing between 2 rim shapes. Both will be carbon clincher with a power tap rear. Here are the differences:

  1. 23mm wide. Come pretty much straight down to a rounded vee nose
  2. 25mm wide that flares out to 27mm and then goes to a blunt u shape nose

I race longer distances and will be using these as an everyday wheel and will throw a wheel cover on the back for races. So. . . what should I choose Slowtwitch?

Thanks for the help!

If you are going to use a 23mm tire anyway, the second option is probably a little faster… thinking the tapering on the trailing edge will help with flow retention. The cover kinda negates any other effects.

Thanks rruff. You went ahead and answered my follow up question as well. . . With the 25mm wheel the best tire option would be a 23mm??

Anybody else have an opinion?
