Vacation advice, Northern Colorado

In the process of planning a vacation this summer. Finally starting to make a little in commissions and would like to make some memories
for the kids. We did the Black Hills 2 years ago and they really enjoyed it. My sister has since moved out to Cheyenne, so will planning on a
day or two there to spend time with her and free lodging helps.

I’m thinking of doing the KOA near Estes Park for 3 nights in a cabin for about $80/night - sleeps 4.
Figure we’d spend time in Rocky Mtn doing trails, trail ridge road, etc.

Any other things out there we should consider doing? Needs to be price conscious. Were thinking of spending
a night in Denver so my wife can get her shopping fix, but that still leaves a day or two.

Thanks.

Are you looking for where to sleep or what to do? How old are your kids?

If you hang out around the Boulder area there is still lots of hiking and shopping really right in town…don’t necessarily need to go to Denver.

Red Rocks is a fun half day trip from the front range… http://www.redrocksonline.com/ There are a bunch of hiking trails there as well, could eat lunch downtown Golden and walk around.

Manitou Springs has some cliff dwellings if you want to go a couple of hours south as well but longer drive for sure. The kids can run around them. http://www.pikes-peak.com/attractions/manitou-cliff-dwellings/

White water rafting on the Cache la Poudre River?
Sampling as many of the micro breweries in Boulder, Longmont, and Fort Collins as you can?

That’s all I got so far.

Looking really for anything. Have 2 boys, 10 and 12, so they like getting out and exploring.

That’s a good age for the things I listed above. Have fun!
