Waiting for Cervelo frame/bike?

Ordered a Cervelo frame set a month ago. I was told at the time it would be available and ship 25 March from Nevada (today). Is anyone else in the same boat? Hoping they are actually shipping now as I need a bike.

Its a 2014 R3 and I am in Canada.

Yes, just waited approx 2 months to get hold of the new P3, I had originally been told it was arriving “next week”, but it remained “next week” for many weeks after that. It was ordered by the shop back in September last year, so took around 6 months to arrive in total.

I wont wait too much longer as I have other options and refuse to miss out on our riding season here. But for now I wait.

Have you called your dealer?

I bought from dengfu and am waiting an extra week. Guess delivery performance in both our cases is no different whether you order a $2k or $400 frame

Yes it is my dealer who is giving me the info.

I am in Canada also and ordered a P3 frameset. Originally was supposed to be in March 4th but March 4th came and then they said no framesets were available until mid-May at the earliest.

Cervelo said they could provide a complete P3 at anytime but I only wanted the frameset.

If your dealer was on the ball he would order a complete bike, strip and get you a frame set NOW then build “your” frame when it arrives… Customer service! As long as your okay with that
.

Wait, your dealer is giving you what info? You said at the time of order it was estimated to ship march 25. Have you talked with them since the order?

I had the same experience with parts for my P2. Needed a new brake stop once and another time a new bottom bracket cable router. Both pieces were under $10 and both took over 4 weeks to arrive from the date of order leaving me without a bike for an extended period of time. The dealer should have pulled the part for me from one of their mutliple bikes in stock, however that would have been above and beyond service on their part to make up for very slow processing times at Cervelo. They weren’t up for that.

My initial post wasn’t really to criticize Cervelo, nor my dealer. Infact my dealer would be the first to rob a part off another bike in order to get a customer back on the road. In my case they just don’t have another 2014 R3 to strip down and I was also told there were no 2014 R3 complete bikes available in Toronto either.

I do have another bike available, a newer model aero road bike but it is an incredibly stiff and aggressive frame/geometry. I am recovering from a knee surgery and I need the new R3 frame to ride something more compliant during my first few months back on the bike, and to use for training after that as my body has taken a pounding the past 18 months from training through some pain and also recovery from surgeries. My current aero bike and set up is not as good for this as the proven R3 can be - I have previously owned the R3 and the ride quality is out-standing.

Lets see what happens with Cervelo and see if they deliver but I won’t be waiting too long for this. There are plenty of other great bike brands out there.

i ordered the 2014 r3 di2…took me 2 weeks and i am on the road. this was miami.

i had an r5 before this and it was an amazing bike but wanted di2 and i couldn’t justify the cost of the new r5. but the r3 fits like a glove and rides so well. my favorite bike in the stable.
