OK, I pulled out the Visa and have a new P3 with Ultegra Di2 on order with the climbing shifter :). Plus, I’ve ordered an Ultegra Compact Crankset (I’m an old fart, I need it) and will send in the unused left crank to Stages for a power Meter.
Come May I plan to order a set of Flows (I think 60 front and 90 rear).
Then go back to work for a couple of years to pay it off. Oh, after I get a Fenix 2.
Thank you for giving me something to dream about during my ride after work on my 2013 Allez Sport… Hopefully the wind will be in my face to further my misery. (on a side note, CONGRATS!)
just buy the whole crankset from Stages. I dont think they allow you to send in a crank arm to get the powermeter mounted
That was what we were originally looking at and would have been the cheapest option. But, that option takes 90 days, 13 weeks. Option 2 is to send them a new, fresh out if box (or still in box), crank arm and they apparently will give you a minimal trade in value on that. From my perspective, I don’t have any use for an extra crank arm and don’t want to wait 13 weeks when Stages delivery is normally 4-5 weeks.
Just curious, how much did the LBS want for switching out the bottom bracket adapter and ultegra 6800 crankset w/rings ?
Looking at doing something similar with a P2 or just changing to rotor cranks so i can go the P2M route.
Not sure on the switch out cost but I suspect no charge as I’m paying full MSRP on the bike and only getting 10% off on parts. But, I want it set up properly.
I thought about P2M a bit as well. But, I wanted a compact Crank and a full crankset isn’t that expensive. And I figure that if I train on my Computrainer with the Stages, I’ll know what power readings I get from it and I can ride according to that. I’m not comoaring my power to something else so even if the one leg power is a bit off it won’t matter to me.
