Does anyone have a good source online for the S-Works Evade Helmet? When doing a search online there are not many results which leads me to believe they are restricting sales. Problem is my cycle store is quoting 3-4 weeks.
I just called a shop in my area and they only have one Evade…too bad it’s not the color I want.
I haven’t seen a link for online sales of that helmet…but haven’t really looked all that hard, either.

Wheatridge Cyclery in Colorado has a lot of them. (www.ridewrc.com). You should call and see if they will ship you one.

Specialized doesn’t permit dealers to sell outside their retail store, hence the reason you don’t see online sales of their products.

Just picked up the white version - any suggestions on the easiest way (besides an hour of fingernail stratching) to get the stickers off safely?
This is becoming a joke. I have talked to several bike shops around the country and they are not allowed to ship these. So only way to get one is from a local shop. Suppose I will look at getting the easy to get Giro Air Attack.

The Evades were in short supply, I work for a specialized retailer and we just got 4 in, all medium in the black colors. We can’t get white or larges for at least a month.

Over a decade ago, Specialized dropped all internet and mail order sales and created the current Specialized.com. The goal was to commit to the IBD channel and let them share in the profits of online sales.
When it was created, it was a decent idea (especially since many of their dealers were getting p*ssed off at the increasing volume of mail order sales). 10+ years later it is hopelessly antiquated and a very poor business model. The world of internet commerce has changed dramatically and Specialized is hopelessly out of touch with their current programs.

I called Specialized yesterday t check the availability of my White/Red size large and the guy said they are getting a huge shipment in this week.
My black, Size L just arrived yesterday at my LBS. My dealer had my request for about a month before he was actually able to get it.

Well, their loss. I was going to go with an Evade, but b/c they’re hard to come by, I ended going with a Course. I also bought an Air Attack. Easy to find AND have shipped.
yea I think you may be out of luck if you don’t live near a dealer that has stock. I walked in to my LBS Specialized dealer back in December and they had about 8 in stock. I snagged the matte black version and didn’t realize how lucky I was to get it until now seeing how hard they are to come by. Air attack is a good option, though.

I was able to land one on my way back from the airport the other day. Called ahead to a large bike shop that’s about a couple hours away from home and they had one large in black/red (really orange). When I got there I discovered the black/red was a medium and they had a white large. After playing around fitting both lids, the medium actually fit better. It was nice being able to compare the fit difference between medium and large. I have a big noggin so I was surprised the medium fit. There is some size overlap between the two sizes. It is such a sweet helmet. Can’t wait to try it out.
