WRENCHES Q Internalizing rear brake cables? Possible?

Is it possible to run the rear brake cable through the top tube by drilling entrance and exit holes??

I bought a Helix OS frame… that is going to be custom drilled for internally routing DI2, but I was wondering if the rear brake cable could be run through the tube as well??

I know my Cervelo S5 has the rear brake cable through the top tube. The builder said that there are “cable guides” inside the top tube of the Cervelo… and that since there no internal cable guides on the Ti frame that it couldn’t be done.

Does this sound right?

Linskey right You should give them a call. I can tell you that my Look steel frame has holes in the top tube and I ran the cable housing all the way through with no problem. Works like a charm.

Have a look here, a guy did it on a P2/P3 but could be done on just about any frame I guess

Yeah, if there are no guides/stops internal then just run full-length housing. My old Dean/Kestrel is like that, works fine.

So as long as I use full length cable liner I should be OK?
