XLab Torpedo 400 and Edge 810

I’m interested in a Torpedo 400 and have read through some of the existing threads and noticed the comments about the computer mount not fitting an 810. Just curious, for those with both, where did you end up mounting the 810? Pictures appreciated. Thanks!

Ooooo, I have a Garmin 800 and was planning to go with the Torpedo 400 as well. Is the 800 the same size as the 810 (I thought it was) and what is the mount problem?

Thanks TriBrad! And that’s all stock? Someone in another thread commented that their 810 didn’t fit and the Xlab rep that posts here (I forget her name) chimed in and confirmed it wouldn’t fit.

All stock minus the zip ties  Not sure why they said it doesn’t fit. MInes fits perfectly.

Could you post a few more pics? Some without the 810 in it.
Is that the standard Garmin quick connect??

It is the standard Garmin connect/disconnect.

I also have the torpedo 400 and have had to use zip ties (for the back slots) on the mounting plate. The reason is that for my fit and where I would like the computer to be, the mounting bracket for my aerobars (Bontrger RXL) prohibits the use of the wide strap. I was able to sneak in a skinny zip tie in between the bracket and keep the fit. It’s somewhat difficult to explain. I’ll send some pictures if you’d like.

I have the xlab 400 and a garmin 310. I tried mounting my Garmin on the torpedo mount but there was too much vibration. My straps around the aerobars are as tight as I can get them but my Garmin did not seem stable on it. I ended up moving the quick release back to the aerobar itself.

I just got my 400 today. I found an old Barflly and attached it to the Torpedo computer mount and that gave me the clearance I needed for the Garmin 800.

I might try to remove the bottle cage spacers as in the photos above.

sorry man, bikes at the shop. Its real easy, just attach the barfly where the mount for the Garmin is supposed to go. That will give you the clearance to mount your computer in front o four Torpedo. Hope this helps.

Which “Barfly”? They have a number of products.

The Barfly TT is the, only one that is designed to clip to the aero / Tri bars. All the others are designed to go on regular drop bars. Picked one up tonight, we’ll see how it fits.
