Zipp between the arms bottle mount pics

Hey Gang:

I thought I saw a photo of this setup here but I could not find it.

Is anybody running the Alumina BTW computer mount? I want to go BTA on my setup, but I cannot see the computer mounted on the stem. The BTW bottle setup prevents using a barfly.

I would like to see the setup with a bottle in place

I agree…Pretty nice…but it does not seem that the Computer could be mounted in front of the bottle…between my hands.

Your wish granted…

I like it but its about 70 grams heavier than an X-Lab torpedo carbon setup with a water bottle
.

That seems like a lot of hardware to do a simple job.

Not to mention $30 more than the Speedfil Z4 cage which will do the same thing plus hold your water bottle.

The Z4 is a piece of $h!t, it’s so flimsy. This looks like it would be much sturdier, and you could easily grab the bottle without the holder moving on ya. At least that’s how it looks. Still leaning towards a Torhans but I don’t know how sturdy the mount would be for that…any advice?

This thing is like $12. Mount your computer on this. Then zip tie your cage to your stem. Looks awesome and is way cheaper. This is what I do.

Yeah… Did just that a month ago. Cateye do a lightweight plastic bottle cage which has 2 handy slots that are perfect. The best is you can set it up/ remove it in minutes. Most def recommend.

I have the setup installed. I bought the torpedo 400 setup and the long carbon fiber piece that you strap to the bars fits like crap on the Vuka Aero (I got it working with some mixing and matching of spacers). This bracket mounts a lot easier and cleaned everything up.

Have you used it and it failed of didn’t work? Just curious as I’ve used it for about a year, 1 IM 2 HIMs and never had any issues. I have mine mounted on the profile design crossbars and not zip tied directly, so maybe that’s a difference. Solid as a rock for me

Sorry if I sound like an idiot, but how do you mount it on to the tribars not using the zip ties?

Why not just use the X-Lab torpedo carbon plate and the Torpedo cage + whatever water bottle you want? I use it, it’s simple, lightweight, and easy.

I like my Z4 mount. Doesn’t move on me at all.

I had one of these lying around that I tried for a bit. Just used the cross bars and mounted the z4 onto those

After using the Z4 for around 3 weeks now I’d have to agree. It is flimsy. Zip ties & even electrical tape to stabilize it–still yoinks the entire system when pulling the bottle out. I like the position for the Garmin, right where I need it. The ZIPP BTA looks so solid but puts the Garmin down by the stem & would not be ideal of a place. Not entirely sure why ZiPP didn’t do a wrap around the bottle arm to put it up top unless that is a patent held by Speedfil? Seems like a marriage between the two would be just about perfect. I’ll take the weight penalty for confidence & knowing everything is stable & not depending on zip ties (which seem to break fairly often).

See my link above. My z4 does not move an inch

With the Zipp, the Garmin can be placed behind or in front of the bottle.
