We moved into a new house last October and now that the snow is finally gone, we are looking into filling in some of the bare spots on the backside of the house. We have a couple large spots of English Ivy and for what I read, this stuff lasts through the winter, absorbs a good amount of rain and is pretty low maintenance (except for cutting back here and there). Does anyone know how long this stuff takes to grow or fill in ground cover? They say it works fast but it doesn’t really give any details.
Burn it. I made the mistake of throwing out a planter that had a sprig of ivy in it. It was fine for a couple years and then BAM! It took over everything. Once its established, its almost impossible to get rid of. When they call it a non-native INVASIVE species, there is a good reason for it!
Kill 'em all. Now. Do not hesitate for nanosecond.
“Cutting back here and there.” Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah…haha.
Yes. You can manage English Ivey. I requires cutting it back as often as you mow the lawn which should not be a big deal. Just trim it like you would a hedge using clippers or a weed eater or with the lawn mower if its on the ground. Donlt allow it to creep up into trees and plants as it will choke those and kill them. It is easy to simply pull-out of the ground.
Ha, ha, ha. Don’t burn it. That just sounds like a bad thing. There are spray poisons you can apply to it if you want to kill it off.
