So some family is coming in town and wants to catch a cubs game. Where is the best place to sit? The weather forecast as of now is saying that it will be cloudy and windy with temps around 60. The game is on april 10th against the pirates and it is a day game.
Bleachers.
Man, I miss going to Cubs games…
I’ve been up and down Wrigley Field. It really depends on what you want.
-Bleachers are fun but can be obnoxious.
-Above the dug outs/ down the lines are good places to get foul balls.
-If you buy the cheap seats, be careful as some are obstructed views.
I’m partial to upper deck some place over the infield, if you get into the first couple of rows. However, for a ‘spring’ game in Chicago, it might be a bit blustery & nasty up there.
U.S. Cellular Field.
You must be referring to New Comiskey.
Bleachers = No reserved seats, it’s first come first server so you either have to get there early or plan on standing. Also can be loud, rowdy and hot depending on time of the year. No vendors either. Tickets are not as cheap as they used to be. Back in the day they used to be 15 dollars now they’re a lot more.
Upper Deck Box is my favorite and most likely the best (affordable) seat in the house. Upper Deck Reserved can be affordable and the best thing about the UD is the back porch if the game sucks. (which this season is a good chance)
First deck. Lower sections between home and the bases are really good. As you go out from about the bases towards the outfield because the way the seats are setup it can be hard to see the games. Terrace reserved can be pretty good as well and also affordable in the lower sections.
If you’re buying on places like stub hub or from brokers and sitting in the “reserve” sections make sure you’re not sitting in an “obstructed view” seat. It’s a seat that is right behind a steel column. Some less ethical people will sell them knowingly and won’t say so.
