How old are you and are you looking for trendy or just plain good? Dallas has a lot of both. Mias on Lemmon is great tex- mex and it’s a dive. It’s almost as good as Gloria’s on Davis in oak cliff. Nova on Davis in oak cliff is a great Gastropub and Eno’s is awesome pizza and beers. Trinity grove is just west of downtown and has several restaurants. Bars are McKinney, Henderson and a few other places but I can’t really speak to that bc I have 2 small kids.
Downtown/uptown and oak cliff have a lot to offer. PM if you have specific inquiries.
I’m kind of a nerd, I guess, but I really enjoyed the Sixth Floor Museum and the Bush Presidential Center (2nd best 9-11 exhibit in the country).
Oh man, I forgot about Mia’s (mentioned in a post above). If you like Tex-Mex, you have to go there. They have brisket tacos that are incredible.
mid 40’s…dives are WAY preferred to fuu fuu and trendy

Generally speaking, if you want dives then go to Austin. Dallas does fuu fuu and trendy.
That being said, it’s a big city. You can find some dives too.
The brisket tacos are amazing! We lived around the corner from Mias for 3 years. Ate there weekly and to this day I’ve not had anything but the brisket tacos… And a lot of their margaritas! They #36 of the best tacos in Texas.
Suggestions? Get on I45, drive south about 250 miles.

Cane Rosso for pizza. I live across the street from the Garland/Gaston location. Lower Greenville for a less yuppie-ish, slightly hipster crowd. McKinney Ave if you enjoy a good laugh/people watching.
