in conjunction with the “Work Travel” thread, I am out of town and some alarm security sales people came to my house. Mrs. OCTri usually shuts these guys down pretty quickly but somehow this crew got past her. They are pushing their service in competition with our current ADT alarm co. they’re $10 more/month but the services are much better. We have 9 months left on our service contract
GHS is offereing to buy out our contract breach fee and “give” us a $1,200 system as a neighborhood example free. I am wary of anything “free” but have heard of these alarm companies giving their wares away for next to nothing to get customers. Anyone know anything about this outfit on the negative or positive side?
Probably a complete hijack but I have avoided alarm security companies in general since I came home to one of those jackasses having my wife in tears telling her how many women who are home alone get raped. Now she knows how to shoot a glock and reload a shotgun on the move. No victim.

yeah, I hear you. I made sure the guy selling knew i was going to be home and we could handle it tomorrow or late tonight. Pisses me off because the sales guy knows the buttons to hit. & he said “your pretty family” and “sweet kids” twice/ I don’t think that was unintentional at all.That pisses me off.
With cell phones, web cams, etc., why does anybody need a “monitored” security system.
Install your own system (with no recurring fees) and take basic security and personal protection measures.
