IMLT broken shoulder guy- update

For those of you who might possibly give a rats backside, I have a quick update. I’m the guy who broke my shoulder in T1 at IMLT. I managed to finish the race, but that’s old news.
The update is that I just completed my final round of PT yesterday, and have been given a 100% complete recovery. I opted for surgery on the AC joint, as that seemed the best way to ensure a quick recovery. I’m the sole breadwinner for my family, and could not work until healed( I fly airplanes). My threshold swim pace has suffered a 1 sec/100 yd increase to 1:16, but most of that I attribute to lack of swim fitness. I swim at most once a week, with most of my energy going towards the run, as I prep for Boston(3:12 goal, I know, a jog for most of you twitchers).
I’ve entered the KL, but have also signed up for Tahoe, as I have a score to settle. If I get a K slot, I’ll push Tahoe to 2015, although maybe a season of 70.3 and Austria would be cool.
Overall, I believe the 2 full months off from training was exactly what I needed. My body seems to be handling the training load very well, and my bike fitness is much better than before.
Lastly, Ill throw out a quick opinion on the USAT secondary insurance. It’s ok, but be sure you have all the t’s crossed and i’s dotted if you need them. Nuff said.
Hope everyone has a great 2014 season!!

Rick

Good news.

Wow, I wish I could swim once a week after taking a couple months off and only lose 1sec/100y on my threshold pace. Although I wouldn’t trade my run for it.
