Whats the best way for a Canadian person to pay for something to an American? Canadians have interact e-transfers (which is what I’d prefer to use), which allows me to basically send money to a person’s email address. I have a USD account I can use. Can I link the USD account to a paypal? Using paypal from CDN to USD is going to charge like 1.14 or something for the exchange rate.
Any help would be appreciated.
It depends how much and how often you intend to send money. I live close to the border so maintain an account at a US bank. TD and RBC both have US branches and can set up US accounts. I think Bank of America will also allow you to setup an account but you might have to visit one of their branches.
If it’s a small one time transaction you can transfer money to someone’s VISA card for a small fee.

This.
While 1.14 sounds terrible, the actual exchange rate is currently 1.11 and no matter how you change the money you are going to take an extra hit whether it’s a bank or Paypal (some will be worse than others I know).
Have you looked at square cash? I don’t know how they operate internationally.
How much do you trust this person?
